Problem

We were tasked with implementing a new organisation and grading structure for an expanding Free Trade Zone in the region. The big challenge was to make the organisational and pay changes without impacting the morale and the performance of the business.

Solution

We developed a technical and behavioural assessment tool for all employees to help in their placement into the new organisation and at the same time define their development needs to bring them up to speed for their new role. This resulted in a development programme for all employees as part of their move to the new positions.

The required budget to fully implement the new grade and salary structure recommendations was not approved. We developed a new salary structure that would manage the transition to the new organisation and grade structure, with plans to move to the final recommended structure within two years.

The result was improved employee morale and the growth of the business and the level of customer service improved

Problem

The business was struggling to make profit and it was having problems delivering its services. We worked as part of a boutique strategy company to review the HR function.

Solution

For the HR function, we carried out a process re-engineering exercise and a restructuring of the HR function, including streamlining systems and processes, developing updated policies and procedures and developing and implementing a performance management system. It also meant transitioning people out of HR and recruit additional and more professional HR employees. Helped to recruit some senior executives across the business

As a result of other organisational and people changes, the business was able to grow and and win additional projects.

Problem

Getting executives and managers to develop SMART objectives and KPIs and to cascade these down the organisation.

Solution

Two and three day training programmes, followed by one to one coaching session with executives to managers to help refine the objectives and KPIS they had developed in the workshop. Provide advice and support to executives to managers and trained the HR team to support executives to managers in developing their future objectives and KPIs. In all companies the Objectives and KPIs were more focused, they were a lot ‘SMARTER’ and covered more employees. One company increased the number of employees with objectives and KPIs from 30% to 92%.

Problem

The bank had problems attracting and retaining good quality employees due to poor salary levels.

Solution

Worked as part of a consulting team on the implementation a new job evaluation process, evaluating all jobs, changing and consolidating job titles and developing an incentive scheme. Also developed individual performance scorecards for manager positions and above.
